In this document on Money the following questions will be addressed.

How much money is a trillion?

What is the federal debt?

Does God have even more stars in his heaven?

Was Bill Gates or Solomon richer?

Money was Invented.

It was Created as a means of exchange for goods and services.

Noah Websters 1828 Dictionary Defines Money as:

MONEY, n. plu. moneys. 1. Coin; stamped metal; any piece of metal, usually gold, silver or copper, stamped by public authority, and used as the medium.

Here is a bit of trivia: does anyone know what dictionay has the most scripture references?

Noah websters 1828 dictionary has most references to scripture of any dictionary.

Money was silver and gold,

but today Today Paper Federal Reserve Bank Notes or Plastic cards.

We need to be careful because the love of money root of all evil.

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Money does not work Miracles.

Peter- Silver and gold have I none,

Act 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Act 3:2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

Act 3:3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

Act 3:4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

Act 3:5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

Act 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Act 3:7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

Act 3:8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

However It can be good to have some riches as proverbs points out.

Pro 13:8 The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.

Geneva commentary

3:8 1 For his poverty, he is not able to escape the threatenings,

which the cruel oppressors use against him.

Do not trust in riches.

Pro 11:28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

On the other hand We need to work to provide for ourselves.

1Ti 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

Christ talked about.

When the authorities asked Peter if Christ paid tribute.

(It seems kind of funny how earthly authorities would even come up with the though!

Jesus, God’s Only Begotten Son, Lord of all, and they want to take tribute, taxes, etc from him.

Their Pride seems to have no bounds.

They should be the ones paying taxes, tribute, etc.

They saw the miracles, sick healed, 5000 fed, blind seeing, and they still reject all this, and wickedly assume Jesus Christ is just a man who they should take tribute from!

Mat 17:24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?

Mat 17:25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?

Mat 17:26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.

Mat 17:27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

Later in Mathew 25 Christ was asked also to render to ceaser.

Lets turn there. Mathew 25:15-21

Mat 22:15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.

Mat 22:16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

Mat 22:17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

Mat 22:18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

Mat 22:19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

Mat 22:20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

Mat 22:21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

Mat 22:22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

Jesus pointed out all things are made by God.

We See here the impudence of these earthly authorities.

If God were like them, What kind of price tag should God put on his creation.

What type of tribute could he charge for his creation?

For Comparison: The U.S. National Debt is over 16 trillion dollars.

Thats a lot!

For visual reference here is only 1 trillion dollars in one hundred dollar bills.

Thats a whole lot!

However have you ever looked up it night lately?

There are a lot of stars up there.

In fact, According to UniverseToday.com http://www.universetoday.com/102630/how-many-stars-are-there-in-the-universe/

Just looking at the number of known stars, we have over 142 trillion stars for every person on earth.

So if there are 7 billion people on earth and 142 trillion stars per person

That gives us a septillion stars, 10 followed by 24 zeros.

Our sun is a big star and we get light from it to grow food.

So for comparison, lets say a star is worth 1000 Federal Reserve Bank Notes.

Then the value of the known stars would be 10 followed by 27 zeros!

So if Man wants to try to charge God, God can charge almost infinitely more to man.

Earthly Governments still trying to do rebel against God, charge God, etc. today.

A big story last year was

that In Houston Texas the lesbian mayor wants to Monitor Church Sermons.

As in Christs time Man trying to control God.

Mens Money Cannot purchase true riches.

Lets turn to Acts 8:9 and see how Simon tried to buy the Holy Ghost.

Act 8:9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

Act 8:10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

Act 8:11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

Act 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Act 8:13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

Act 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

Act 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

Act 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Act 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Act 8:18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

Act 8:19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

Act 8:20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

Money cannot buy the Holy Ghost.

We are to sell earthly things for heavenly.

Luke 12:33 says

Luke 12:33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Luke 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

If God were selling spiritual gifts though,

How much should Peace be worth?

How about alittle hope?

What about comfort?

People go to Psychologists to try to find these and spend lots of

money on all kinds of pills.

You cannot even turn on the Tv during prime time without seeing many Pharmacudical adds. Many for emotional needs.

They who try to accumulate earthly wealth forget Christs words.

A Mans life does not consist of the abundance of his house.

Luke 12:15 1599 Geneva Bible (GNV)

15 Wherefore he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of [a]covetousness: for though a man have abundance, yet his [b]life standeth not in his riches.

Footnotes:

  1. Luke 12:15 By covetousness is meant, that greedy desire to get, commonly with other men’s hurt.

  2. Luke 12:15 God is the author and preserver of man’s life; goods are not.

No matter how much money a person has it cannot buy peace.

Desire for money just keeps growing.

People have asked some of the super rich billionaires how much is enough?

They respond : Just a little more.

Peace that the world gives is lacking.

Peace does not depend on how much money a person has.

God The true source of life gives us life and breath and all things.

Bill Wiese Author of 23 minutes in hell, and others, says there is no air in Hell.

If life and breath and all things are gifts from God then that would explain it.

Belief in Jesus Christ provides peace that surpasses all understanding.

Jhn 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Christ exhorts on the sermon on the mount:

Mat 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

Mat 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Solomon Richest man in old testament.

He got 666 talents of gold a year.

King Solomon’s Wealth More Than Mr. Gates?

Everyone knows King Solomon’s wealth surpassed anything the ancient world had seen but was he richer than the world’s current richest man, Microsoft founder Bill Gates? Right now, Gates net worth is estimated at around $40 billion. To his credit, he’s signed a pledge to distribute computers to Third World countries. That aside, let’s take a hypothetical look at the numbers between the two men.

Josephus and the Bible mention King Solomon’s yearly salary at 666 talents of gold per year. One talent of gold equals 34.5 kg, which converts to 1109 troy ounces. A ballpark current value of gold is $1275 per ounce. Multiply that out and the King’s salary was about nearly a billion dollars per year. Very impressive.very impressive indeed. Multiply that by the 40 years he was king and you end up with... $40 billion. That’s just salary!

But King Solomon’s wealth would not be complete without accounting for the other property and assets he owned. Horses, land, etc. Plus, we’re figuring that if he was investing by Biblical principles and had God’s voice in his ear, his return on investment would have been a healthy one. Just taking a wild guess, it seems like the King could have been the owner of a net worth that could easily have translated into $130 billion today.

While we’re pretty sure he got no royalties for having authored parts of the Bible, and he did have 700 wives under his care, which surely must have been a serious drain on his budget, but the guy was doing alright, even by today’s standards.

So compared to bill gates Solomon was at least three times as rich.

This is what he wrote for us.

Ecc 5:10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

Ecc 5:11 When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?

In Proverbs 11:29 were exhorted not to be greedy

Prov.11:29 He that troubleth his own [u]house, shall inherit the wind, and the fool shall be [v]servant to the wise in heart.

commentaryProverbs 11:29 For though the wicked be rich, yet are they but slaves to the godly, which are the true possessors of the gifts of God.

Prov. 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is as a tree of life, and he that [w]winneth souls is wise.

commentary Proverbs 11:30 That is, bringeth them to the knowledge of God.

None can take money with them when they die.

Job Who was also very rich.

Job 1:1 says

9 There was a man in the land of [a]Uz called Job, and this man [b]was an upright and just man, [c]one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

2 And he had seven sons, and three daughters.

3 His [d]substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and his family was very great, so that this man was the greatest of all the [e]men of [f]the East.

Job 1:1 That is, of the country of Idumea, as Lam. 4:21, or bordering thereupon: for the land was called by the name of Uz, the son of Dishan the son of Seir, Gen. 36:28.

He said in job 1:21

Job 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

Proverbs 29:13 The poor and the usurer meet together, and the Lord lightened both their eyes.

No man should be judged righteous for riches or wicked for Naught.

Job 21:23 None ought to be

judged wicked for affliction, neither good for prosperity.

Job 21:23 says

23 One 1dieth in his full strength, being in all ease

and prosperity.

24 His breasts are full of milk, and his bones run

full of marrow.

25 And another 1dieth in the bitterness of his soul,

and never eateth with pleasure.

Jesus example of the rich man and Lazerous.

Everyone knows who John D. Rockefeller was right.

He was the first American billionaire. He was the richest of the Rockefellers. He started out selling vegetables, the oil, and up and up he went. He made over a billion. The sum staggard the mind. One asture christian calculated that it was more than would have been in Adam's bank account if he had deposited 500 every day since his fall and exit from the garden.

It says in the Rockefellers an American dynasty he was a Baptist Christian.

At Rockefellers funeral a by stander edged up to an accountant for Rockafeller and asked “how much did he leave behind?”. The Accountant responded: He left it all. He did not take a thing with him.

God Does Not see Rich or poor

Pro 22:2 The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.

Proverbs 13:22 The good man shall give inheritance unto his children’s children: and the [k]riches of the sinner is laid up for the just.

It has been said

If I leave my children to inherit great wealth and not anything biblical or Christian then I have left them nothing.

However if I Leave them a biblical Christian Heritage Then I have left them everything.

God Does not Charge us for his goodness to us.

Isa 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Isa 55:2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Worldly things do not satisfy

Expessially if abused.

Pleasure of sin are for a season, but the end thereof is death.

Sin leaves a person wore out and always laboring for more.

Christ said Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden.

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

We Need to discipling our minds

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down the imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, [g]and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ,

g 2 Corinthians 10:5 An amplification of this spiritual virtue, which in such sort conquereth the enemies be they never so crafty and mighty, that it bringeth some of them by repentance unto Christ, and justly revengeth others, that are stubbornly obstinate, separating them from the others which suffer themselves to be ruled.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The world distracts us. We need to spend time with God.

It says in

Romans 10:17 [v]Then faith is by hearing, and hearing by the [w]word of God.

V Romans 10:17 A conclusion of the former gradation: we must ascend from faith, to our vocation, as by our vocation we came to the testimony of our election.

W Romans 10:17 By God’s Commandment.

Need to plan some time every day to be with God.

God gives us a great clue in Proverbs.

Wisdom in Proverbs says I love them that love me and those that seek me early shall find wisdom.

Pro 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

Early

If it is done in the evening then the person is tired usually physically and mentally.

And in 8:34

Pro 8:34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

Pro 8:35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

Pro 8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Blessed is the man that wisdom says, heareth me, watching Daily.

Daily. So Early, Daily.

Hosea 4:6 has

6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because [f]thou hast refused knowledge, I will also refuse thee that thou shalt be no Priest to me: and seeing [g]thou hast forgotten the Law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

We should not be destroyed for lack of knowledge.

In James 4:5 [i]If any of you lack [j]wisdom, let him ask of God, which giveth to all men liberally, and reproacheth no man, and it shall be given him.

A daily devotional might be good also.

But set the alarm and get up early enough to spend time with God.

Set it early for an hour to study.

Hymn Sweet hour of prayer.
