ntroduction.

Why should we study the scriptures?
Hebrew 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

II Timothy 3:15-17 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Psalms 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Psalms 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Psalms 119:9  BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Hosea 4:6  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Acts 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Psalms 119:99-100 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. 100 I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.

1 Chronicles 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

2 Chronicles 15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

Ezekiel 18:24-31 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. 25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? 26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. 27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. 28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal? 30  Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. 31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

What does it take to be saved. To be saved we must believe in Christ but is this the only thing it takes to be saved? What about obedience to His commands? Persevering in the faith until the end, pursuing holiness, God through his word the Holy Bible tells us that without Holiness no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14)
In these perilous times, there are a great number of Christians who accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior but are not living a Christian life. They acknowledge Christ with their lips but with their actions they deny Him. They believe they are saved because they have been taught that the only thing it takes to be saved is to believe in Christ. Once they are saved they are always saved They believe their actions do not affect their salvation. They are sure of their salvation. The father of lies in Genesis deceived Eve into believing that if she disobeyed God she was not going to die. But after disobeying God she died! (Instantly Spiritually And later Physically). Today the enemy is deceiving many with that same lie. Don’t worry Christ already pay for all your sins. If you sin you will not die.
Those who teach, once saved always saved are actually guilty of promoting and inducing the lukewarm Laodicean spirit (Rev 3:15-17) that is so prevalent in many churches of today. As there is no doctrine that is more damaging in its effect of producing a false sense of security in believers whom God by sound doctrine would encourage to be watchful, zealous and diligent about protecting their salvation. Those who succumb to this lukewarm spirit will be spit out by Jesus and lose their souls. Thus those who preach this doctrine of demons are unknowingly working for Satan to destroy men’s souls not to save them.
The scriptures clearly indicate that God’s free gift is NOT UNCONDITIONAL, but can be lost through abuse! (disobedience). Those who teach differently, like the scribes and Pharisees of old, may be experts in their man made doctrines but are ignorant of the true meaning of the scriptures!
What does the Bible say? Is the Law done away?
What Does Jesus Himself say in Mathew?
Mathew 5:17-20  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
If we receive Christ as our savior, can just believing in Him in spite of our actions save us? Let us see what the Holy Bible, which is the word of the Living God has to say about the ones that will be truly saved.
(Matthew 7:21-23 21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
What is a definition of Iniquity?
Leviticus 5:17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.

(Matthew 6:15) But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Also Matthew 18:23-35 [salvation is not unconditional]
(Matthew 24:11-13) 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
(Matthew 5:13)  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
(Matthew 10:22-23) 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. 23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
(Matt. 19:17) 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
(Matthew 24:45-51) 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
AND (Luke 12:41-46) … What is the portion of the hypocrites? (Revelation 21:8)
Matthew 30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outerà25:14-30  darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
(Mark 13:13) 13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
(Mark 9:42-46) 42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

{If just believing in Him is all it takes to make it to heaven, then why did Jesus make such a strong warning?]
(Luke 6:37) 37  Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
[salvation is not unconditional]

(Luke 8:13) 13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

(Luke 14:34)34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

The prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32)
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

(Luke 22:31-32) 31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
([If a believer cannot lose his or her salvation then why did Jesus prayed that Simon’s faith fail not? because if a believer’s faith fails he or she may just walk away and not continue in The truth, faith, love]

(John 15:2-6) 1  I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
[We must abide in Christ otherwise we will be cast away. If we have works but we don’t have Christ then we have no justification before our God. So we must abide in Christ. The question is how do we abide in Christ? Can we abide in Him by just believing in Him?]

Lets see what the Holy Bible has to say:
(John 15:10) 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father s commandments, and abide in his love.
And hereby we do know that we know him, IF we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:3-4)
(John 8:31-36) 31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 200 35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

(1 John 5:11) 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

If one is IN Christ, he has eternal life (because this life is IN Christ). If one does not ABIDE IN Christ (John 15:6) then he loses his eternal life (because this life is IN Christ).
(Rom 2:7-8) 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
(Acts 1:25) 25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
(Romans 11:17-22) 17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; 18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. 19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
(1 Corinthians 3:16-17) 16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
(1 Corinthians 9:25-27) 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
(1 Corinthians 10:12) 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
1 Corinthians 15:1-2) 1  Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
(2 Corinthians 6:1) 1  We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
(2 Corinthians 11:2-3) 2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
(2 Corinthians 13:5) 5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Have ye suffered so many things IN VAIN? if it be yet IN VAIN. (Galatians 3:4)
See (Galatians 1:6-9) [Why was Paul so concerned about his beloved brothers and sisters in Christ who were being persecuted by the unbeliever Jews? He was concerned that because of persecution they could have walked away from their faith and forfeited their salvation]
(Galatians 4:11)11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. (Galatians 4:11) see (Galatians 1:6-9)
(I Tim. 5:15) 15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.
Acts 5:1-10, Ananias and Sapphira, members of the church in Jerusalem, under the Holy Spirit inspired Apostles, were carried out and buried.
(Galatians 5:1-4)1  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. 2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
[Works without faith in Christ cannot justify us before our God]

Galatians 5:19-21) 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
(Galatians 6:7-10) 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
(Ephesians 5:5-6) 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have ALWAYS OBEYED, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom YE SHINE AS LIGHTS IN THE WORLD; HOLDING FORTH THE WORD OF LIFE; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I HAVE NOT RUN IN VAIN, NEITHER LABOURED IN VAIN. (Phil. 2:12)
[If it is not possible for a believer to lose his salvation why was Paul concerned that his work could have being in vain? The lowest place in heaven is still heaven; the only way his work could have been in vain is if the believers had not made it to heaven]
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
[His grace is not of ourselves or merited by us, but rather, His grace is His gift to us - not by our works but only received through the exercise of our will in repentance and faith IN RESPONSE TO HIS GRACE so that no one can boast]
For we are saved BY HOPE: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? (Romans 8:24)
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and THOU STANDEST BY FAITH. Be not highminded, but fear (Romans 11:20)
[If we are saved by faith (hope), and we forfeit it, are we still saved?]

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: IF YE CONTINUE IN THE FAITH GROUNDED AND SETTLED, AND BE NOT MOVED AWAY FROM THE HOPE OF THE GOSPEL, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister (Colossians 1:21-23)

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. (Luke 8:15)

But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire. Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us. For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For ye are our glory and joy. Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone; And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith: That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know. For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain. (Acts 17:1-13)à(1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:5) Revealed the attitude of the hostile Jews. (Matt 24:13)-> Only those who persevere until the end shall be saved.

Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme. (1 Timothy 1: 19-20).

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from THE FAITH, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (1 Timothy 4:1-3)

Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: FOR IN DOING THIS THOU SHALT BOTH SAVED THYSELF, AND THEM THAT HEAR THEE. (1 Timothy 4:16)

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an Him who much is given, of him shallàinfidel. (1 Timothy 5:8) much be required: (Luke12: 47-48)

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, THEY HAVE ERRED FROM THE FAITH, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:9-10)

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: WHICH SOME PROFESSING HAVE ERRED CONCERNING THE FAITH. Grace be with thee. Amen. (1 Timothy 6:20-21)

If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: (2 Timothy 2:12). See 1 Chronicles 28:9 and 2 Chronicles 15:2

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.(2 Timothy 2:16-18)
[If we are saved by faith, and our faith is overthrown are we still saved?]

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that day and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (2Tim. 4:6-7)

But CONTINUE thou IN the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them (2 Timothy 3:14)

For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.(2 Timothy 4:10)
[Demas forsook his faith because he loved this world more than he loved God. See Luke 8:14 and John 15:2] [If we are saved by faith but we forsake it; are we still saved?]

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; HOW SHALL WE ESCAPE, IF WE NEGLECT SO GREAT SALVATION; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him (Hebrews 2:1-3)

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, IF WE HOLD FAST THE CONFIDENCE AND THE REJOICING OF THE HOPE FIRM UNTO THE END […He thatàß. (Hebrews 3:6)  endureth to the end shall be saved. (Matt 10:22; Matt 24:13)]

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, IF WHE HOLD THE BEGINNING OF OUR CONFIDENCE STEDFAST UNTO THE END (Hebrews 3:12-14)

But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. LET US THEREFORE FEAR, LEST, A PROMISE BEING LEFT US OF ENTERING INTO HIS REST, ANY OF YOU SHOULD SEEM TO COME SHORT OF IT. (Hebrews 3:17-4:1)

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. (Hebrews 4:11)

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. (Hebrews 6:4-6)

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? (Hebrews 10:28-29)

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, AFTER ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. (Hebrews 10:35-39)

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works IS DEAD? (James 2:19-20)

Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works IS DEAD also. (James 2:24-26)

Brethren, if any of YOU do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a SOUL FROM DEATH, and shall  Behold, allà ßhide a multitude of sins. (James 5:19-20)  souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: THE SOUL THAT SINNETH, IT SHALL DIE. (Ezekiel 18:4)

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. (2 Peter 2:19-21)
[ to him whom much is given from him much shall be required ]

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. (2 Peter 3:16-17)
And hereby we do know that we know him, IF we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:3-4)
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. IF that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.(1 John 2:24)
Love NOT the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.(1 John 2:15-17) SEE (Matt 7:21)
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, HATH NOT GOD. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. (2 John 1:9)
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of OBEDIENCE unto righteousness? (Rom 6:16)
I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 5-7)
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. (Revelation 2:4)
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. (Revelation 3:14-19)
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; HE THAT OVERCOMETH SHALL NOT BE HURT OF THE SECOND DEATH. (Revelation 2:10-11)
HE THAT OVERCOMETH, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (Revelation 3:5)
Behold, I come quickly: HOLD THAT FAST WICH THOU HAST, that no man take thy crown. (Revelation 3:11)
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.(Rom. 8:13)
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: (Gal. 1:6)
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election SURE: for IF ye do these things, YE SHALL NEVER FALL (II Peter 1:10)
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.(Revelation 22:14)
Follow peace with all men, and HOLINESS, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14)
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.(Acts 17:11)
LUKE 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Favorite Proof Texts That Are Claimed To Teach Once Saved, Always Saved
1. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.(John 10:27-29)
[The condition required for being the Lord's sheep is to hear His voice and follow Him. As long as we do this, no one can snatch us from His care. However, if we refuse to hear His voice and follow Him, we will no longer be His sheep.]
2. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39).
[This passage gives us a wonderful promise that should give us great comfort. There is no power in the universe that can separate us from the love of our God. But we must abide in the love of Christ first]
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. IF ye keep my commandments, YE SHALL ABIDE IN MY LOVE; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. (John 15:9-10).
[In this passage Jesus said the way we must abide in His love is to keep His commandments. What is the obvious implication of those who no longer keep His commandments? Are they abiding in His love? ]
3. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (1 Corinthians 3:10-15)
[Some argue from this passage that at the judgment, God will test the works of men by fire. Those who lived righteously will have their works proved to be gold, silver and precious stones. These individuals will be given a reward for their faithful service. Others who live hypocritically and sinfully will have their works proved to be wood, hay and straw and will have them burned up. These will still be saved, but they will lose their reward.
What works are Paul referring to in this passage? Is there anything in the context of 1 Corinthians that will explain this to us? In 1 Corinthians 9:1, Paul wrote, Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? Although he never said specifically in chapter three what kind of works he was referring to, in chapter nine, he does say what his work was. His work was the converts to whom he taught the gospel.
Paul was doing his best to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ by bearing much fruit (John 15:8). In the process of bearing much fruit, the apostle Paul and every other faithful disciple of Jesus will teach many different kinds of people the gospel. Some who are taught will bear fruit. Some will bear a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty (Matthew 13:8). These are the works that are gold, silver and precious stone. Others who are taught will not produce fruit. They will be like those Jesus described as being thorny or rocky ground. In the parable of the sower, He said, But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. (Matthew 13:20-22). These are the works, which are wood, hay and straw. In the end, these works will be burned up and we will suffer loss. Paul may be referring to their lost companionship or the loss of the reward for teaching others. Either way, we will still be saved. Our salvation is not dependent on the faithfulness of those whom we teach. Our salvation is dependent on our own faithfulness. ]
4. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. (2 Timothy 2:11-13).
[Some make the argument that even if we are faithless, God will remain faithful by saving us anyway. This is a blatant ignoring of the context. Paul is teaching that no matter what, God will remain faithful to His promises, whether we are faithful or not. What is the promise of God? In the very context, God promised, If we deny Him, He will also deny us. God has promised He will deny us if we are faithless and He will remain faithful to that promise! He will keep His Word no matter what we do!]
5. Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us (1 John 2:18-19).
[From this passage many argue that if anyone falls away he never was saved in the beginning. If that is what this passage means, then it contradicts all the many serious warnings we find throughout God's Word. When we understand a passage in such a way that it is contradicting other plain passages, our method of interpretation is in serious error. When John writes of us in the book of 1 John, he is referring to himself and the other apostles, not Christians in general. In the first three verses of 1 John, he wrote, That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. (1 John 1:1-3)
It was the apostles who had heard and seen and touched Jesus Christ. The apostles were the ones who bore witness and declared Jesus to the world. Read Acts 1:1-8, 22; 2:32; 3:15; 4:33; and 5:32 to see how the apostles were the special witnesses of Jesus Christ. John is writing of men who had left the presence of the apostles. He said, They went out from us. The only way they could have left the apostles is if they had been with them earlier. Although they had been in the presence of the apostles, it appears that they were never truly converted to the Lord. They may have attended with the faithful saints for some time, but were, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. (1 Timothy 6:5) ]
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
Why keeping Gods commandments is not grievous.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Deuteronomy 6:24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
Phillipians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
1 Peter 2:21-25 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Ephesians 2:4-7 4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Why should we keep God's commandments? Because Jesus Christ asked us to.
John 14:15  If ye love me, keep my commandments.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
1 John 1:8-2:12 8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. CHAPTER 2 1  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 468 3  And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 7  Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. 8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. 9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. 11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 12  I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name s sake.
What    is    the     New      Covenant  ?
Hebrew 8:10-12 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
(Phillipians 2:12-16) 12  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 14  Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
(Romans 14:11-13)11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother s way.
(Revelation 22:14-15) 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
